In her 30-year law career, Anne Wynne has represented a range of clients in litigation of all types. Her focus on family law now also includes expertise in collaborative family law, which offers couples an alternative to court in resolving disputes. In 2005, Anne entered the most recent phase of her career by becoming a founding partner of Ikard Wynne LLP.
Her career also includes work in public policy and commercial litigation. She has been named to three gubernatorial appointments under Gov. Ann Richards: Chair of the General Services Commission, Member of the Texas Transportation Commission, and Member of the Texas Turnpike Authority Board of Directors; she also served with the latter two organizations during Gov. George W. Bush’s administration.
Anne was inspired by her grandfather, himself a lawyer, to pursue a legal career, and feels fortunate to be in a profession where she’s able to help people solve problems. She notes, “It does not matter whether it is a family law case or a class action, I get the chance to help people with real life problems. No matter how messy or complex they are, we work together to resolve those difficult real life issues. We find a way to do it with the least amount of harm to anyone else. Invariably we find something to laugh at along the way.”
Anne is the founder of Atticus Circle, a national organization focused on education, policy development and legal advocacy to achieve equality for all parents and partners regardless of sexual orientation. She also serves on the board of Equality Texas, focused on similar advocacy issues for the Lone Star State.
Though she finds her work rewarding and challenging, she points to her role as a parent as her most rewarding and challenging job of all.
