In a law career spanning more than 35 years, Bill has represented clients in litigation of all types, from contested guardianships to complex multidistrict class action antitrust cases. He has represented individuals and business entities in disputes involving contracts, financial arrangements, mergers and acquisitions, trade secrets, fiduciary relationships, white collar crime, securities fraud, antitrust, products liability, oil and gas interests and zoning and land use. In 2005, Bill entered the most recent phase of his career by becoming a founding partner of Ikard Wynne LLP.

While the focus of his practice for many years has been property tax litigation (with more than 30 years of experience in that field alone), he is passionate about representing clients in the Texas courts for a wide range of commercial litigation cases.

Bill was lead counsel for the named plaintiffs and class members in the class action suit brought in 2007 against the Pedernales Electric Cooperative, Inc. and 17 individual defendants. That litigation resulted in a settlement which was very favorable to the class. The settlement was approved by the court in May 2008.

Bill was named a 2005 “Super Lawyer” by Law & Politics and Texas Monthly, as one of the seven lawyers selected statewide for the practice area of tax litigation.

Bill has successfully represented owners of industrial, manufacturing, natural resource, and commercial properties of numerous and varied kinds.  These have included natural gas pipelines, crude oil inventory, oil and gas reserves, cable television operating plants, refining facilities, lignite reserves, limestone rock reserves, retail shopping centers, 1000-room national flag hotels, jewelry store inventory, residential lot inventory, environmental laboratories, oil and gas drilling equipment, manufacturing and fabricating machinery, equipment and inventory, and downtown office buildings.

Bill is the proud father of two sons, Will and John. He notes, “Without question, their existence is my greatest achievement.”
