Tim Young joined Ikard Wynne in 2009, with a focus on commercial, finance and real estate transaction matters, licensing and international law.

Prior to joining Ikard Wynne, Tim was General Counsel for Austin-based Pavilion Technologies, Inc., and prior to that was a shareholder in the business law section of Winstead P.C.

Tim pursued a legal career out of a love for debate, after growing up in a town of 4,000 people in rural northeast Wyoming. Tim’s favorite aspect of practicing law is working on transactions and deals. He says, “I really enjoy working on the deal that is not a cookie cutter arrangement – something with a challenge, something unique, something that requires a creative approach to making the transaction occur.” He also enjoys negotiating business disputes and helping entrepreneurs launch new ventures.

Tim is very active in charitable work in Austin. He is part of the leadership group of the Octopus Club, a grassroots volunteer organization raising funds for the Paul Kirby Emergency Assistance Fund at AIDS Services of Austin. He is also very active with the Hill Country Ride for AIDS, captaining the team that has been the top fundraiser for the Hill Country Ride for each of the last three years. He also works with the Asia Food Fest in Austin, an annual event featuring an iron chef competition, raising funds for the King’s Tsunami Orphanage in Thailand and the Arc of Texas.

Tim is very proud of his sons, one of whom is a sergeant in the U.S. Army currently serving in Afghanistan.
